Since the time of its inception in 1971, Silver Jubilee Govt College has only continued to get stronger. The institution successfully completed the NAAC accreditation process in 2006 and received a score of 85%. The institution's Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) was formed in the year 2006 with a goal to strengthen the institution in all aspects by increasing the number of high-quality initiatives, introducing new programmes and work towards exposing the students to various opportunities to become work ready. The successful functioning of IQAC has resulted in the grant of autonomous status to the institution in the year 2006.The institution underwent the second cycle of NAAC accreditation process and secured “A” grade (3.3 CGPA score) in 2014. The institution's autonomous status has given room for academic flexibility and periodic syllabus revision. Additionally, it allowed the institution to expand its initiatives and broaden its horizons in order to guarantee quality, equity, access, and fineness in all of their aspects.

Over the years, IQAC has played a key role in the adoption of numerous quality initiatives, including:

↣ Received funds under “College with Potential for Excellence” (CPE) scheme for a period of five years in 2010.

↣ The institution adopted Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) from the academic year 2013-14 providing the students with the greatest       degree of freedom in selecting their courses.

↣ Strengthened all the science departments utilizing funds sanctioned under Star College scheme for three years in 2016.

↣ Secured all India 35th Rank in 2018 & 66th rank in 2019 in the category of Colleges by NIRF, MHRD, Govt of India.

↣ Operation of G-suite account for the institution and domain mail Ids to all the departments for conduct of Online classes during       Covid-19 pandemic.

↣ Introduced Virtual practicals in collaboration with Amrita Vlabs.

↣ Introduced certificate courses and value added courses in collaboration with companies such as APSSDC, CISCO, TCS ION, IBM,       Microsoft etc.

↣ Virtual internships through Internshala.

↣ Established SWAYAM-NPTEL local chapter for promoting self-learning through MOOCs.

↣ Conducted AICTE funded Faculty Development programme.

↣ Faculty Forum to foster team learning

↣ Established Ministry of Education’s Institution’s Innovation Council (MIIC) to foster the culture of innovations among the students

↣ Memorandums of Understanding, Linkages, and Collaborations with Other Institutions and Organizations to Provide Wide Range       of Exposure Outside of the Classroom

↣ Upgraded campus Wi-fi with 100mbps speed and provided ICT facilities like digital boards and virtual connectivity for       teachinglearning.

↣ Organized Programmes on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) under National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission in association    with Patent Office, Chennai.

↣ Supports the initiatives of Women Empowerment Cell for promotion of gender equity

↣ Established Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) as per the norms of MoE, GoI

↣ Revised the Curriculum Framework as per NEP-2020.
