1.    To take admissions through the  1st counseling for the academic year 2019-20 in the first & third weeks of June 2019

2.    To conduct Board of Studies Meetings for the modification of syllabus for II year

Accordingly the admission process commenced through the counseling at Guntur and Kurnool and completed admission process for the seats of 280 in two counseling.



The Controller of Examinations has requested the Vice Chancellor to nominate members of University for BOS.

1. To welcome the first Year Students & conduct an induction programme on 19th June

Orientation Programme was organized by IQAC for welcoming the first year students for the academic year 2019-20.

Parents also participated in large number and expressed their gratitude for institution. All the incharges addressed the students and explained the curriculum.

To organize international Yoga Day on 21st June 2019




As per the instructions of CCE, NCC, NSS and Dist.Collectorate,International Yoga Day has been celebrated in DSA premises. MLA’s , Commander, AO and District Collector and SP participated in the programme. Nearly 700 cadets took part in the programme. All the speakers explained the importance of Yoga in one’s life.

To conduct motivational Classes during the last week of June for the enrollment of students into NCC

NCC Unit organized a motivational class on 29th June for all cadets and future cadets for the enrollment for the academic year 2019-20.

Lt. Col. Suresh, an alumnus of the College who studied B.Sc during 1998-2001 was the chief guest.

NCC Unit organized another motivational class on 3rd July for all cadets and future cadets for the enrollment for the academic year 2019-20. Col.M Peter Celestian SM, Group Commander has been the Chief the Guest for the programme.

To organize a rally in connection with the 20th anniversary of Kargil Vijaya Diwas and invite an eminent personality deliver a lecture on the significance of the occasion on 26th July 2019

On the occasion of 20th year anniversary celebrations of Kargil Vijaya Diwas, the college NCC Unit 142/28 Coy has detailed 20 cadets and the CTO for the rally which took from C Camp to Collectorate. The Ex-Service men and many other NOG’s participated in the rally to salute the Indian soldiers who martyred during the war.

Col. Peter Celestian has been invited as the chief guest and resource person for the programme. He gave an extensive presentation on the significance of the war and its consequences which led to safety and security of the nation.

To conduct Faculty Forum on Examinations Reforms to strengthening the internal assessment in the college on 29th July 2019

Faculty Forum:

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) has arranged Faculty Forum on "Examinations Reforms in Evaluation" Dr. K. Balakrishaiah Setty,, Controller of Examinations, has been the resource person who underwent a workshop at HCU, Hyderabad recently. He gave a useful presentation in the Principal chambers with the help of Power Point presentation. He further said that there is a need to strengthen the examination branch in conduct of online examinations.

To inaugurate ‘The Microbiologist Society’ on 3rd August 2019 by the department of Microbiology

The Department of Microbiology has inaugurated a college level unit “The Microbiologist Society” India. The Principal, Vice Principal and IQAC Coordinator have congratulated the life science departments for coming forward with such innovative and brain storming thoughts. The unit comprises four important Houses led by a Captain for each house. All the student representatives are indeed very much thankful to the Incharge of Microbiology, Dr Vimala Rodhe.

1. To celebrate College Freshers day on 8th August 2019 inviting the collector and local MLA as the chief guests



2.To organize an awareness programme on banking examinations and opportunities in coordination with the Sai Krishna Banking Coaching Centre, Kurnool on 09th August 2019

3. To organize an awareness programme on career guidance and personality development on 10th & 11th August 2019 by SJGC Fraternity, Hyderabad.


College celebrated Freshers Day on 8th August 2019 in the college Auditorium. Dist Collector Sri. G. Veerapandian, Kurnool MLA Sri Hafeez Khan and Fraternity General Secretary Sri Janardhan were invited to grace the occasion.

An awareness programme is organized by the Department of Commerce in coordination with Sai Kirishna Banking Coaching Centre, Kurnool. The programme was attended by the Principal, Vice Principal, IQAC Coordinator.

Meeting: 09



1. To celebrate 73rd Independence Day on 15th August 2019

2. To conduct ‘C’ Certificate Presentation Ceremony for the students of 2016-19 batch cadets on 16th  August


3.     To commence an executive programme for BpEd aspirants in Physical Education for 10 days from 17th August 2019


73rd Independence Day celebrations were held in the College Premises and Principal of the college, Dr.K.Umadevi has unfurled the national flag.

The college has organized Certificate Presentation to the cadets of 2016-19 batch. SW & SD Cadets from battalions 1st Andhra Medical, 9th Andhra Girls and 28th Andhra attended and received their certificates from the Group Commander. He congratulated all the cadets who have passed and collected their certificates during the ceremony.

Executive Training Programme:

The Department of Physical education has organized an intensive Coaching to BP.Ed students for 30 days regarding NVS coaching.

Finally the programme came to an end with the distribution of material to the students.

To organize FIT India activity on 26th August in connection with the Birth anniversary of Veteran Hockey Player DhyanChand

To celebrate Matrhubhasha Dinotsavam by the Dept of Telugu on 26th August

In connection with FIT INDIA Movement, the Dept of Physical Education has organised 10K steps for all the students in the premises of the College. Neary 500 students participated in the programme. The Principal, along with staff members participated actively till the end of the programme. Later, all the students and staff watched launching of FIT INDIA MOVEMENT by Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Sri Narendra Modi from 10.00 am onwards.

Department of Telugu has celebrated the birth anniversary of Sri Gidugu Ramamurthy Panthulu garu who has contributed for the development of spoken telugu in AP.

1. To celebrate Teachers day on 5th September

2. To enroll the girl students into NCC for 40 vacancies on 06th September

3. To make arrangements for DDG’s visit on 12th September

In view of birth anniversary of Dr Sarve Palli Radha Krishnan & Teachers Day, the students of SJGC celebrated Teachers Day in the college Auditorium. They shared their views about their teachers who impacted in their life.

NCC Enrollment is conducted for SW cadets in the college ground.  40 students have been enrolled into NCC for the year 2019-20.

Dy Director General of AP & T, NCC Directorate Air Commodore N N Reddy has called on Silver Jubilee Govt. College (A) on 12th September 2019. He was received by the Principal Dr. K. Umadevi and CTO Dr Kanna in ceremonial manner with the beat of Army wing band performed by the JD Cadets of 1 Andhra Med Battalion.  He was very much fascinated with guard of honor by the cadets and presented sweet box as a token of appreciation to the Cont Commander. Dr Kanna submitted a brief report about NCC activities in the college.

1. To celebrate Youth Festival in connection with NSS Day in the college on 24th September

2. To constitute different committees for organizing Rayalaseema Intercollegiate Tournament for Women on 27 and 28 September

3. To constitute various committees for organizing SJGC Fraternity Annual Meet on 2nd October 2019 with few proposals


Youth Festival has been celebrated in coordination with SETKUR, Kurnool in the college auditorium. Competitions were conducted for district selection in this function.


All the committees were constituted and the event was successfully organized by the department of Physical Education. RU Registrar Prof Ramana Reddy and RJD Kadapa Dr, CV Rajeswari have graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Special Invitee respectively.

All the committees were constituted for various responsibilities regarding the fraternity meet on 2nd October. The programme went on successfully and the fraternity came forward with the following:

1.     Two RO plants to the college and hostel

2.     Cash prize for all toppers Rs 2000 per each student

3.     Rs 30000 given to the three poor identified students

4.     Rs.800000( Rupees Eight Lakhs) has been presented to the college for purchasing various equipment

5.     Worth of Rs 50000 sports equipment was presented to the dept of Physical Education

6.     Worth of Rs. 100005 (Rupees One Lakh and Five Thousand) was presented to the purchase of sports dress

7.     All the three years students and faculty have presented with flag color T shirts during the function.
